Representation of Social Class

Stereotypes:
Upper class
middle class
working class
Under Class

Upper class:

Top end of the social class, most power, low angles. Costumes look expensive, as well as location. Establishing and long shots, to show location - manor house.

Middle class:

Parents, and two children stereotype, mature parents. Gender stereotypes, traditional man/woman. Not as chaotic as working class and under class. More power than under and working class, low angles.

Working class:
Hard worker on a low age, without an education/or much of one. Can be represented negatively, being shown as lazy, failures and dumb.  Humorous, soundtracks are used to make fun of working class, or a sad soundtrack to sympathize. Transitions are used is sympathy needs to be creates, or just cuts if it is a negative representation.

Under Class:
Mise en scene, in this picture is the yellow sofa, showing they are lazy. The rubbish bags, represents them as negatively as well. Long shots, show the mise en scene. Stereotypes related with the under class are: chav/hoodie culture, benefits, alcohol, violent and drugs.
